535 Authentication Failed Zoho - [SOLVED]

If you receive the 535 Authentication Failed Zoho (535) error code when you try to send an email message from your Zoho Mail account using Gmail, it means that the password is incorrect in the email client you have configured your account.

You might have enabled the Two Factor Authentication (TFA) feature on your Zoho Mail account. In such a case, you have to use the application specific password to configure the Zoho Mail account in the email client. 

To resolve the 535 Authentication Failed error code (535) error message, generate and update the application specific password as given in the following steps.

Generate An Application Specific Password

  • Step 1 : Log into your Zoho Mail account using your Zoho email address and password.
  • Step 2 : Click the My Account
  • Step 3 : In the left panel, click the Security tab followed by the App passwords
  • Step 4 : Navigate to the Application Specific Passwords
  • Step 5 : Click the Generate New Password
  • Step 6 : Enter the email client’sname in which you want to configure your Zoho Mail account.
  • Step 7 : Click the Generate
  • Step 8 : Now, you will see the application specific password in the Application-Specific Password Make a note of it.  to solve 535 authentication failed Zoho error message

Update The Application Specific Password In Gmail

  • Step 1 : Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.
  • Step 2 : Visit the login page of Gmail.
  • Step 3 : Enter the correct Gmail email address and password in the appropriate fields.
  • Step 4 : Click the Sign in
  • Step 5 : You can access your Gmail account from the Chrome browser.
  • Step 6 : Click the gear-shaped icon.
  • Step 7 : Select the See all settings
  • Step 8 : Navigate to the Accounts and Import or Accounts
  • Step 9 : Go to the Send mail as section and update the application specific password.
  • Step 10 : This will resolve the 535 Authentication Failed zoho (535) error message.
