Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Settings of the AT&T mail (IMAP protocol)

  • Step 1: Incoming server address (IMAP): imap.mail.att.net
  • Step 2: Incoming port number: 993 
  • Step 3: SSL: Yes, required
  • Step 4: Outgoing server address (SMTP): smtp.mail.att.net
  • Step 5: Outgoing Port number: 465 or 587

Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Settings of the AT&T mail (POP3 protocol)

  • Step 1: Incoming server address: inbound.att.net
  • Step 2: POP3 port number: 995
  • Step 3: SSL: Yes, required
  • Step 4: SMTP server address: outbound.att.net
  • Step 5: SMTP port number: 465

Carry out the below-mentioned steps to set up the AT&T mail on Outlook 2016.

  • Step 1: Open the Outlook 2016 application on your computer and proceed with AT&T net mail settings.
  • Step 2: Click the File menu followed by the Add Account option.
  • Step 3: Select the Manual setup option.
  • Step 4: Choose the POP or IMAP option.
  • Step 5: Enter the following information correctly in the given fields.

User Information:

  • Step 1: Your Name: Enter your name.
  • Step 2: E-mail address: Your AT&T e-mail address.

Server Information:

  • Step 1: Account Type: Select POP3 or IMAP.
  • Step 2: Incoming mail server: inbound.att.net (POP3) or imap.mail.att.net (IMAP)
  • Step 3: Outgoing mail server: outbound.att.net (POP3) or smtp.mail.att.net (IMAP)

Logon Information:

  • Step 1: User Name: Your AT&T e-mail address.
  • Step 2: Password: Your AT&T e-mail’s security key.
  • Step 3: If required, enable the Remember password option.
  • Step 4: Now to configure AT&T net mail settings, go to the More Settings dialog box.
  • Step 5: Click the Outgoing Server Info tab. 
  • Step 6: Enter the following two options:
  • Step 7: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  • Step 8: Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  • Step 9: Now, go to the Advanced Info tab of the More Settings dialog box.
  • Step 10: Enter the Incoming server and Outgoing server ports in the given fields correctly.
  • Step 11: Make sure to select the encryption connection type as SSL. Click the OK button followed by Next.
  • Step 12: Now, the Outlook application will start to test your account.
  • Step 13: Once it is done, click the Finish button.
