EM CLIENT NOT WORKING WITH GMAIL

eM Client is an emailing application widely used by many. Over a period, eM client experiences some problems because nothing is ever perfect. eM client not working with Gmail is one such issue and this has the users worried. This is for users who have their Gmail set up with eM Client. Now, let’s dive into the troubleshooting methods to fix the problem.

FIX 1: ENABLE LESS SECURE APPS IN GMAIL

  • Step 1:Sign in to your Google security account.
  • Step 2:Click on the Security option from the left side of the page.
  • Step 3:Scroll down to the Less secure apps access section.
  • Step 4:Click the Turn on access (not recommended) option.
  • Step 5: Click on the toggle switch for the option Allow less secure apps and the color of the slider will turn blue.

FIX 2: UPDATE EM CLIENT

  • Step 1:Open eM Client on your computer.
  • Step 2:Click the Menu option.
  • Step 3:Select Help from the drop-down list.
  • Step 4:Click the option Check for update.

FIX 3: SET UP GMAIL WITH EM CLIENT AGAIN

  • Step 1: Open the eM client application.
  • Step 2: Click the +New button.
  • Step 3: Click on Tools from the drop-down list.
  • Step 4: Select Accounts and click the + button.   
  • Step 5: The New Account window will open.
  • Step 6: In the email field, you have to enter the Gmail address and click the Start Now button.
  • Step 7: Now enter the account details, the Account Name and the Account details. Now, click the Next button.
  • Step 8: Click the checkbox for the services you want to avail of on eM Client and then click the Next button.
  • Step 9: You will see the page to choose your email account.
  • Step 10: Enter the password for the Gmail account.
  • Step 11: eM client will now request permission to access your Google account. Click the Allow button.
  • Step 12: Once the account has been set up, you will see the message You are all set!

FIX 4: REINSTALL EM CLIENT

  • Step 1:Open the Run command (Windows + R).
  • Step 2:Type ‘Control Panel’ and press the Enter button.
  • Step 3:Go to the Programs option and click Uninstall a program.
  • Step 4:Scroll down the list of applications, select the eM Client application, and click Uninstall.
  • Step 5:Restart your computer.
  • Step 6:Open the browser and download eM Client.
  • Step 7:Install eM Client and add your email account to it.

FIX 5: EM CLIENT TROUBLESHOOTER

  • Step 1:Locate eM Client on your computer.
  • Step 2:Right-click on the app icon and select the Properties option.
  • Step 3:The Properties pop-up window will open.
  • Step 4:Click the Compatibility tab.
  • Step 5:Click Run the compatibility troubleshooter button.
  • Step 6:Follow the prompts and complete the troubleshooting.
