- Step 1:Double-click the Microsoft Outlook 2016 icon on the desktop of your computer to launch its main interface.
- Step 2:After clicking the File tab, navigate to the Info option on the left panel and select the Account Settings option from its drop-down menu.
- Step 3:When the Account Settings dialog window opens, go to the Email tab and click the Repair button.
- Step 4:This will launch the Repair Account dialog window on the screen.
- Step 5:Once you select the ‘Manual setup or additional server types’ option, click the Next button.
- Step 6:Check if all the information entered in the following fields are correct.
- 1.Your Name
- 2.Email Address
- 3.Incoming Mail Server
- 4.Outgoing Mail Server
- 5.User Name
- 6.Password
- Step 7:Ensure that you have chosen the IMAP protocol from the Account Type drop-down list.
- Step 8:Navigate to the Internet Email Settings dialog box by clicking the More Settings button in the Repair Account dialog box.
- Step 9:Once you click the Outgoing Server tab, check if you have selected the following options.
- 1. My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- 2.Use the same settings as in incoming mail server
- Step 10:Under the Advanced tab, ensure that the server settings are correct.
- Step 11:Click OK Next Finish.
