GMX POP3 Settings - Quick Steps

GMX is a free email service that is used by a wide range of users. GMX Mail provides a free advertising-supported email service. You can easily access GMX Mail via webmail or set up your email account on any email client application using the POP3 or IMAP protocols. Proceed with the steps given below to set up GMX POP3 settings on Outlook 2016.

You can easily activate your POP3 email account in Outlook 2016.

  • Step 1:Open your GMX email account and click the E-mail tab. 
  • Step 2:Go to Settings and select POP3 & IMAP.
  • Step 3:Checkmark the Send and receive emails via external program box. 
  • Step 4:Click on the Save button to confirm the settings you have made.
  • Step 5:Open the Outlook application and click the File menu.
  • Step 6:Click the Info tab and select the Add account option.
  • Step 7:Now, the Outlook-Assistant to set up a new email account will open.
  • Step 8:Type the email address to configure your email account.
  • Step 9:Go to Advanced options and checkmark the Let me set up my account manually box.
  • Step 10:Click on the Connect button and select POP as the account type.
  • Step 11:When the POP Account Settings dialog box appears, enter the GMX POP3 settings as mentioned in the following steps.
  • Step 12:Enter the incoming mail server address as pop.gmx.com.
  • Step 13:Type the port number as 995.
  • Step 14:Now, select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) box.
  • Step 15:Go to the Outgoing mail section and enter the mail server address as mail.gmx.com
  • Step 16:Enter the outgoing server port number as 587. Choose the encryption method as STARTTLS (recommended).
  • Step 17:Now, click on the Connect button.
  • Step 18:When the login dialog box opens up, enter the email address and password of your account.
  • Step 19:Checkmark the Save the password in your password list box and click on the OK button.

Once GMX POP3 settings done, You can now use your GMX email account on Outlook 2016. You will start receiving emails on your account.
