Mail Not Working On Server - [SOLVED]

Fixing emails not working on the server is very simple if you follow the quick steps given below. Some common email issues are due to the misconfiguration of the server settings on the email clients. If you have added your email account to Microsoft Outlook 2016/2019, follow the below-mentioned steps to fix the mail not working on server issues.

  • Step 1: Make sure that you have a standard Internet connection on your Windows computer.
  • Step 2: Also, check whether you have disabled the Antivirus or firewall installed on your computer because there are many chances for blocking your outgoing mail server by the firewall programs.
  • Step 3: Next, launch the Outlook app and click the File menu at the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Step 4: Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Info tab.
  • Step 5: Select Account Settings and click the Email tab on the Email Accounts screen.
  • Step 6: Choose your email account and click the Repair button.
  • Step 7: Click the Advanced options button to view the IMAP Account Settings.
  • Step 8: Verify whether you have entered the correct email address and password in the User name and Password fields.
  • Step 9: Ensure that you have entered the correct incoming mail server name in the Server field for avoiding mail not working on server issues.
  • Step 10: If you have selected IMAP as your account type, make sure the port number is 993.
  • Step 11: Make sure to select the SSL/TLS option from the Encryption method drop-down menu.
  • Step 12: If you have selected POP as your account type, the port number should be 995.
  • Step 13: Click the Outgoing mail drop-down arrow to check the outgoing mail server settings.
  • Step 14: Ensure that you have entered the correct outgoing mail server name in the Server field.
  • Step 15: If you have selected SSL/TLS for an encrypted connection, the port number is '465' or '587'.
  • Step 16: Ensure that you have checked the My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication checkbox and enabled the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
  • Step 17: Click Next and save the configured settings.
  • Step 18: Restart your Outlook app and check if you can send or receive emails from your account.
  • Step 19: If the mail not working on server problem persists, remove and reconfigure the account settings.
