  • Step 1:On your Windows computer, launch the Outlook app by giving a double-click on the Outlook shortcut icon on the desktop.
  • Step 2:Next, click the File menu in the Outlook main window.
  • Step 3:Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Info tab from the left-side panel.
  • Step 4:Under the Account Information section, click the Account Settings drop-down menu and select the Account Settings option from the drop-down list.
  • Step 5:Click the Email tab in the Account Settings window.
  • Step 6:Choose your email account and click the Change button at the top.
  • Step 7:Verify whether you have correctly entered the outgoing mail server name on the POP and IMAP Account Settings screen.
  • Step 8:Also, check whether you have entered the correct email address and password.
  • Step 9:Next, click the More Settings button at the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the Internet Email Settings window.
  • Step 10:Click the Outgoing Server tab in the Internet Email Settings window and check the My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication checkbox to fix SMTP authentication error Outlook.
  • Step 11:Besides, enable the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
  • Step 12:Click OK to return to the POP and IMAP Account Settings screen. Click the Test Account Settings button to verify your server settings.

  • Step 18:Once you have removed your email account, add it again with the correct server settings.
