Windows Live Mail Exchange Server Settings

Accessing your Microsoft Exchange account is easier when you use an email client on your Windows computer. But if you wish to configure the Exchange server settings on your Windows Live Mail, carry out the below-mentioned Windows live mail exchange server settings steps.

  • Step 1: On your Windows computer, click the Start menu and type "mail" in the search field.
  • Step 2: From the search result, click Windows Live Mail to launch the Windows Live Mail app.
  • Step 3: In the Windows Live Mail window, click on the Accounts tab and select the Email icon from the toolbar.
  • Step 4: Under Add your email accounts, fill up the Email address, Password, and Display name fields with your exchange email account credentials.
  • Step 5: Select the Manually configure server settings checkbox and click the Next button.
  • Step 6: Next, you need to enter the server settings.
  • Step 7: Under Incoming server information, select IMAP as your account type from the Server type drop-down menu.
  • Step 8: If you wish, you can choose POP as your account type from the Server type drop-down menu for Windows live mail exchange server settings.
  • Step 9: In the Server address field, enter the incoming mail server name (for example, exchange.promailbox.net) for your exchange account.
  • Step 10: If you wish to secure your email, select the Requires a secure connection (SSL) checkbox.
  • Step 11: Enter 993 in the Port field.
  • Step 12: If you have chosen POP as your account type, enter 995 in the Port field. 
  • Step 13: Under Outgoing server information, enter the outgoing mail server name (for example, smtp.promailbox.net) in the Server address field.
  • Step 14: Enable the Requires a secure connection (SSL) checkbox as well as the Requires authentication checkbox for a secure connection.
  • Step 15: Enter 587 in the Port field.
  • Step 16: Under Logon user name, enter your desired user name and click the Next button.
  • Step 17: In the next page, click the Finish button to complete the exchange server setup.
  • Step 18: Close the Windows Live Mail app and restart your PC.
  • Step 19: Now, check if you could access the Microsoft Exchange account on Windows Live Mail.
